Unity Games

Where: Woburn Hilton Hotel, 2 Forbes Rd, Woburn, MA 01801 (781)932-0999
Description: Unity Games is back - and better than ever! Last year's attendance was over 520 gamers! Another phenomenal day of gaming is lined up and we are excited that our 18th big Unity Games event will be held Saturday February 4, 2012. This is the same great game room at the Woburn Hilton Hotel that we had last year and we are pumped for a return trip to this venue. The hotel is located only 10 miles from Downtown Boston with convenient access to I-93 and I-95.

What is Unity Games?
In the Eastern Massachusetts area we have a loose coalition of gamers and game-groups known as Unity Games. Click here to visit our forum http://www.unitygames.org/. Occasionally we hold full-day gaming events where we try to get all the area groups and gamers together along with their friends to play board and card games.

We have a great gaming area this year and a very nice room rate. The cost to attend is the fee we are charged by the hotel for the big conference room, divided by the number of people attending. Usually this has worked out around $50.00 - $60.00 for the week.

Mohicon

6 games will be scheduled in all with at least 3 finished games required for ones tournament placing.

Those attending can play 1-6 games but, 3 are required to place in the tournament.

Ante up for the awards is $15 and, in addition, elective $?$ support for the wargamming club here would be nice but, entirely elective.

The best scores from any 3 (three) games per player during MohiCon will be tallied to determine place of finish here for MohiCon awards.

HOWEVER, for those who concern themselves with such things, the FoG fieldofglory.de rankings page will reflect 1st-3rd based on total points earned in all games played.

POC: Aubrey Hopkins, West Point, NY (and any future assisting regional designates announced.)

Venue:
116A Washington Road, West Point, NY 10996
On the palisades above the Hudson (Muhheakantuck).
(845)938-3121
(845)596-9959
RSVP to hopkinsaubrey@hotmail.com

If attendance hits 20+ we will may move to classrooms all or in part.

Format:
FOG AM Tournament 900 APs
One army, one date (with any allies PARTICULAR to the army and date selected ONLY) for the army BUT, multiple lists (variants) are allowed for different games/opponents BUT, only with that one army, and that one date selected.

Would like to have a 4 hour game format with a BLITZ finish in the final 30 min. but, the blizt finish will be subject to a VOTE from the players attending. Otherwise it will just go to 4 hours hard stop.

BLITZ means: after 3 1/2 hours of play, the phasing player has 5 min to complete all desired moves = elected charges and effects, shooting and any desired manouevers. At 5 min no more movement is permitted and all standing melees and their effects are resolved.

Any ongoing melees will continue in the Blitz rounds.

The intent is to push out unfinished games at 3 1/2 hours to 3 additional quicker paced rounds. Players wanting to avoid the Blitz can play at a better pace.

So, in BLITZ, a player electing to charge and having some shooting may then run out of time to move all of the army's remaing BGs. The quicker you move, the more you move and do. I have played BLITZ in DBM and liked it. I would like to see how it plays in FoG AM. But, no worries, the BLITZ is subject to a vote.

If there are others interested in gaming another set of rules, please let me know and I/we here will try to accomodate that. But, that would definitely be in classrooms.

If you need any further info please write STAT. Sorry for any confusion in advance. Attend if you can.

Cheers,
Hop

Council strives toward the goal of "quality over quantity". We're a relatively small con, but we try to have top-notch events. We predict an attendance of about 250 this year. As with all the Councils over the years, our goal is a nice balance between role-play games, miniatures, board games and other stuff.
